What caught our eye before visiting — from reviews and research, not a stay.
Built in 1983 and a UFO-shaped landmark in Makuhari Hongo for over 40 years. CNN.co.jp's piece on Japan's love hotels — "UFOs, whales, and castles" — even carries a caption reading "Hotel UFO, in Chiba."
All 24 rooms got a full renovation in 2024. The pitch is the gap between the old-school UFO exterior and the modern, upscale interior.
It's a "one-garage type" — parking and room are combined into one unit. No front desk, straight from the car to the room, and checkout is self-service through an in-room payment machine.
All 24 rooms are non-smoking (e-cigarettes and heated tobacco are fine). Every room has a bubble bath, and some Standard rooms add a large mirror.
We haven't been yet, so a star rating is still a ways off.
