What caught our eye before visiting — from reviews and research, not a stay.
Chapel Coconuts sits right on the coast in Isahaya. Room 501, the "Royal Suite Room," turned up in the official photo gallery — top floor of the hotel wing, 100㎡, and booked for only one couple a day.
If we stayed, we'd want to check in while it's still light out. Head straight for the ocean-view bath, cocktail in hand from the all-you-can-drink menu, and watch the sun go down over the water.
Somewhere between thinking "this is beautiful" and actually watching it happen, the sun slips past the horizon, and it leaves a small ache behind. Then back to the room, and the rest of the evening left open. ...Though maybe go easy on the cocktails.
Checkout is at noon. We'd want to sleep in as long as possible, but it seems worth it to squeeze in one more ocean-view bath in the morning — and after that, an ocean-view massage chair.
The morning light might be a little too bright. But that's part of it too — a morning in this room sounds like exactly the kind of stay we're after.

- A varied room lineup that includes 5 concept rooms (collagen machine / aroma massage / darts & karaoke / sauna & karaoke / open-air bath).
- Room 501, the "Royal Suite Room," switched to a one-couple-a-day, overnight-only plan on October 1, 2019. Besides the large ocean-view bath, it has a separate shower room and a dressing area.
- Perks of the Room 501 "Stay Plan": check-in from 3:00pm / all-you-can-drink cocktails (gin: Beefeater, vodka: Smirnoff, crème de cassis: Lejay, Irish whiskey: Bushmills) / Nespresso coffee machine / ice maker / MYTREX shower head / Refa hair dryer and iron / massage chair / free breakfast (reservation required, accepted until 5:00am same day).
